To show filename extensions in Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and Windows 11:

1. Open File Explorer.
   
   
2. In File Explorer, click the View tab.
   
   
   
   
3. In the pop-up window, in the Show/hide category, mark the checkbox for File name extensions.
   
   
   
   
4. Check your files and see if the filename extensions are now shown.
