Frequently Asked Question

Update Drivers in DriverFinder
Last Updated about a month ago

Once you have reviewed the scan results and related information and selected the drivers you want updated, you can begin the download process!

  • You can update drivers one by one (e.g., one driver at a time) by clicking the Update button next to a specific driver update.

  • In the Pro version, you can also update all driver recommendations in one go by clicking the checkboxes in each out-of-date device, then click the big Update All button at the lower, right-hand corner of the main window (Scan Results tab).

After you make your update selection, the download progress bar appears showing the file size of the driver file being downloaded.

Depending on the file size of the driver(s), your Internet connection speed, and if the web servers providing the driver(s) are experiencing high traffic load, the download process may take a few seconds or a few minutes.

It is normal to encounter driver files with huge file sizes.

In these instances, it may be better to opt to download drivers one by one.

Note: If you experience slow download speeds, please consider upgrading to the Pro version, which has higher download speeds.

And if, for whatever reason, the driver download is taking an extra long time to finalize or fails, you can skip the driver for now and try again at another time.

By default, downloaded drivers are automatically stored here:

  • For Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\DriverFinder\Download

  • For Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.110 and 11: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\DriverFinder\Download

Please see the article titled "Change Driver Download Location in DriverFinder" if you want to change the download location.
