Note: It is highly recommended to backup existing drivers before downloading and installing new drivers. This is to ensure that you have a complete set of existing drivers before you make any changes to your system. Further, having these drivers may come in handy should you need them for another computer.

  3. Click the Backup button.

By default, backed-up drivers are automatically stored here:

  • For Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\DriverFinder\Backup

  • For Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10 and 11: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\DriverFinder\Backup

To change the backup location, please see the article titled "Changing Driver Backup Location in DriverFinder".

To restore backed-up drivers, please see the article titled “Restoring Drivers in DriverFinder”.

To remove backed-up drivers, please see the article titled “Deleting Backed-Up Drivers in DriverFinder”.
