 Install a Driver in Compatibility Mode
Article When you install drivers, it's important that they MATCH the Windows operating system (OS) you have installed on your PC. However, when Microsoft releases a new OS (e.g., Windows 7), it's impossible for ALL hardware manufacturers to have Windows 7 drivers immediately. To solve this issue, some drivers can be installed without any problems using Windows' Compatibility Mode feature.
  1. Right-click the driver you want to install and then select Properties.
  2. Select the Compatibility tab.
  3. Under Compatibility Mode, click Run this program in compatibility mode for:
  4. Click the down arrow and select an earlier Windows version and then click OK.



  5. Double-click the driver to install it.
